DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce an extraordinary evening event for PATCHES\, a wonderful cause that offers parents peace of mind by caring for children stricken with critical\, long-term medical conditions who need care every day of their lives.\nPATCHES will host its inaugural Farm to Table Gala on Thursday\, May 16th\, 2024\, at Hacienda Los Robles in the Redlands. The dinner event begins at 6 p.m. and will feature the best of locally sourced gourmet dining\, great music\, and\, of course\, fabulous wine and drink! This exceptional evening will also provide a sneak preview of plans to create a new 65\,000 sq. ft. PATCHES Village on 5 acres of land in Florida City.\n“We are overwhelmed by the tremendous support and generosity shown by everyone involved in the inaugural gala\,” said Lucia Soria\, Gala Chair. We thank our founding sponsors for their generosity and look forward to changing the trajectory of the lives of these incredible children and their families—bringing them hope for a healthier future.”\nSponsorships are $10\,000\, $5\,000 or $2\,500. Founding benefit sponsors include Lennar\, FPL\, Ram-Tech\, and Marlin.\n“I am proud to support PATCHES and our first “Farm to Table Gala”\, said Larry Roth\, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “This event will go a long way towards involving our generous South Dade community and I hope you will join us in making our dream for a new PATCHES Village a reality”.\nTo join us or support this one-of-a-kind event\, please go to Farm to Table Gala \, or visit www.patchesvillage.org to learn more about our plans.\nBut most importantly\, with your help\, we can make a difference and impact children’s lives in South Dade.\nABOUT PATCHES\nChildren who qualify for PATCHES Pediatric Nursing Center are usually referred from local hospitals–particularly Nicklaus Children’s Hospital–and may be suffering from medical complexities due to premature birth\, terminal illness\, recovery from complex surgeries\, severe asthma\, or other respiratory conditions\, life-threatening cardiac issues\, cerebral palsy\, epilepsy\, Down Syndrome\, other rare genetic disorders\, or birth to mothers with AIDS or drug addictions. 59% of the families with children at PATCHES fall under the federal poverty level. While PATCHES receives Medicaid funds from eligible patients\, the facility largely relies on the community’s and donors’ generosity to fully meet its needs. Due to the life-changing therapy\, medical care\, and educational support\, most children who enroll at PATCHES eventually assimilate into the community and local school system with their normal peer group.
