The month-long activation\, taking place Oct. 1 through Nov. 3\, will recognize this culturally rich Latin American tradition culminating with a free community event on Saturday\, Nov. 2. \nStarting Tuesday\, Oct. 1\, CityPlace Doral will be vibrantly decorated with gorgeous colorful Dia de Los Muertos-themed decorations through Nov. 2. At the main entrance\, guests will be welcomed by a wooden calavera (sugar skull) and colorful Marigolds overhead. Sugar skulls will be displayed throughout City Place Doral and the Fountain Plaza will be ornamented with an altar display of a trio catrines (male skeleton figures) with flowers\, Marigolds and more. All items are hand-crafted by Artistic Elves. \nThe main Day of the Dead event will take place on Saturday\, Nov. 2\, from 6 to 9 p.m.\, where children and families can enjoy face painting\, food sampling from local restaurants and a center-wide processional with performances by folkloric dancers\, stilt walkers\, mariachis and costumed characters. The Baila Conmigo Kids Dance School will host a special youth performance. Guests can also shop and stroll the “El Mercado” night market\, a marketplace for people and their pets. \nFurry friends are encouraged to meet up at CityPlace Doral’s City Bark dog park. Decorated with fun photo moments\, a doghouse\, dog bone and a fire hydrant\, City Bark is a paws-itively good time. There are also four pet waste stations located conveniently throughout the property. \nGuests and pets are encouraged to dress in Day of the Dead theme.

Sugar skulls will be displayed at the center through the main event on Thursday\, Nov. 2. All items are hand-crafted by Artistic Elves. \nThe main Day of the Dead event will take place on Thursday\, Nov. 2\, 6–9 p.m.\, where children and families can enjoy face painting\, food sampling from local restaurants and a center-wide processional with performances by folkloric dancers\, stilt walkers\, mariachis and costumed characters. DESCRIPTION:Splash into summer at CityPlace Doral! CityPlace Doral – South Florida’s premier wellness\, entertainment\, dining and restaurant destination – has launched its seasonal Instagrammable art installation made entirely of vibrant colored beach balls as an extension of The Oasis experience. \nUpon entering the center\, guests will be welcomed with 1\,300 rainbow-hued beach balls floating overhead on the boulevard. Guests will have a ball experiencing photo moments including 14 surfboards and a beach ball tunnel. Visitors are encouraged to snap a selfie and tag @CityPlaceDoral with the hashtag #BeachBallsOverCityPlaceDoral for a chance to be featured on the center’s social media. The beach balls will be on display through Sept. 30.\nThe Oasis experience at CityPlace Doral’s Fountain Plaza features a relaxing\, open-air atmosphere for friends and family to enjoy grab and to-go bites from CityPlace Doral’s restaurants and enjoy South Florida’s beautiful weather. The Oasis incorporates Adirondack chairs\, tables\, umbrellas and oversized games such as Chess\, Cornhole and Connect Four. \nTo celebrate the beach ball art installation\, CityPlace Doral will host a series of free events including:\nSummer Chalk Fest – Saturday. Aug. 26\, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. \nThe Summer Chalk Fest will feature live chalk art from chalk artist\, street painter and muralist Ken Mullen. Guests will also enjoy activities including face painting\, a live DJ\, samples from CityPlace Doral’s retailers and more.\nMellow Monkey Art is Ken Mullen\, an award-winning chalk artist\, street painter\, and muralist who specializes in creating large anamorphic 3D images. Professionally certified as a “Maestro” level chalk artist by the Florida Chalk Artist’s Association\, Ken has had the privilege of creating artwork at corporate events and festivals throughout the United States.
