Participants will write the names of their loved ones and the qualities they appreciate in them on paper leaves and heart-shaped cutouts\, which will be used to decorate the trunk and branches of their tree.\nGet ready for some gobble-tastic fun with artist Carolina Casusol. Participants will design their very own festive headbands adorned with colorful feathers\, cute turkey faces\, and messages of thankfulness.\nUsing old magazines and other printed materials\, artist Gabriela Gamboa guides participants in the creation of collages. Participants will create messages of appreciation\, gratitude\, and love through color schemes and the combination of images and words.\nJoin artist Pati Monclus in making drawings of the people\, places\, and things you love using Styrofoam. Using markers\, participants will draw on the Styrofoam and press it against a damp piece of paper. DESCRIPTION:Last weekend South Florida was hit with heavy rainfall as an unnamed storm system flooded our streets and parks. The Underline was flooded along with our neighbors in the Brickell area leaving a lot of garbage and debris behind in the planting beds and stripping some areas of topsoil and mulch. \nWe need your help and support now to make The Underline’s Brickell Backyard bloom again! Join us this Saturday\, June 11th from 9 – 11 AM\, as we work together with our neighbors and friends to clean up our park in an effort to restore and replant native plants along The Underline. Our pollinators and Monarch butterflies need our support! Gardening tools will be provided but volunteers must bring their own gardening gloves.
