Why Bianca De La Riva believed in Alpha School Miami enough to become part of it herself.
Every parent carries a quiet fear: what if my child falls through the cracks?
Alpha School Miami parent Bianca De La Riva understood that feeling well. Originally from Dorado, Puerto Rico, Bianca has called Miami home since 2012. A mother of three with more than 30 years of experience in corporate sales and executive leadership, she built her career around one constant: helping people navigate important decisions with confidence.
When Bianca and her husband Rob discovered Alpha School Miami, they weren’t simply looking for another school. They were searching for the right fit for their daughter.
What stopped them wasn’t a glossy brochure or trendy buzzwords. It was Alpha’s philosophy.
Instead of moving students along at the same pace regardless of readiness, Alpha focuses on mastery-based learning. Students first identify where they are academically, uncover knowledge gaps, and then build from there through personalized learning plans powered by AI and supported by dedicated Guides in small classroom settings.
At Alpha, students don’t simply move on because the calendar says it’s time. They advance once they truly understand the material.
“That’s not how most schools operate. But Alpha does.”
Bianca recognized immediately how different that approach was — not only as a parent, but as someone who spent years helping families relocate to neighborhoods like Pinecrest, Coral Gables, and Palmetto Bay as a licensed Miami real estate professional. Families moving to Miami often asked her about schools, educational options, and community life. Over time, she became deeply familiar with the local educational landscape and what parents were truly searching for.
Alpha stood out.
As her daughter began thriving in the environment, Bianca watched her confidence grow alongside her academic progress. She saw firsthand what can happen when a child feels supported, understood, and challenged at the right level.
The experience left a lasting impression.
What began as admiration soon became something more personal. Bianca found herself deeply inspired by the school’s mission, its innovative approach to education, and the way the team genuinely cared about each student’s individual journey.
So she made an unexpected decision.
She joined the team.
Today, Bianca serves as Alpha Miami’s Admissions Director, helping guide families through the same discovery process she once experienced herself. Drawing from decades of leadership, relationship-building, and community knowledge, she now helps parents find a school where children are seen not as numbers, but as individuals with unique strengths, challenges, and potential.
And perhaps that’s what makes her story resonate so strongly.
She isn’t simply selling a school. She’s sharing something she believed in enough to become part of it herself.
That’s a story worth telling.
