305 Hive’s Book Club Experience: Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.

For many of us, summer is a time for new adventures. This month’s pick will be a new adventure in fiction! As the Book Bees know, I am open to reading just about anything as long as it is well written and interesting. But I must confess, there is one genre I always approach with caution: Sci-fi. It’s just not my favorite. Since book clubs should entertain, but also challenge their members to explore books they may not naturally gravitate to, I thought what better way to do that than to pick… you guessed it, a science fiction novel to kick off the summer. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir is the most recent novel by the best-selling author of The Martian (later adapted to a film starring Matt Damon). It is about a lone astronaut who must save the earth from disaster. Project Hail Mary promises to be an action-packed, science-based thriller, that will keep us turning pages and rooting for an intrepid, unlikely hero.
