305 Hive’s Book Club Experience: I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
Please join us at our Book Club Experience of 2022 on Tuesday, February 7th at Mamey on 3rd at THesis Hotel. Enjoy lite bites and wine with your fellow 305 Hive subscribers while we chat about I’m Glad My Mom Died. We will also reveal next month’s book, so you don’t want to miss it.
As our 305 Hive Book Bees know, I have a soft spot for fiction. I love getting lost in made up stories that can transport me to a different era or a whole new world. In an effort to evolve as a person and a reader, one of my resolutions for 2023 is to expand my reading horizons. That includes adding non-fiction to my “to-be-read” list. I look forward to exploring self-help books, memoirs, biographies and more. Since there is no better time than the present to start something new, I thought I would choose a non-fiction book for our January read.
This month’s pick is “I’m Glad my Mom Died”. Don’t let the title scare you! In this candid memoir, author Jennette McCurdy shares her experiences as a child actor starring in hit shows like Nickelodeon’s iCarly and Sam & Cat. She also chronicles her struggles with mental health challenges, addiction and complicated, often unhealthy, relationships in her life. Told with dark humor and refreshing honesty, this is also the story of recovery and new beginnings which makes it the perfect pick for a brand-new year. Wishing all our readers a wonderful 2023. Happy Reading. Lili
