MADD Southeast Florida to Host VIP Kick-Off Party for 13th Annual UKG Walk Like MADD and MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K presented by the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County on Feb 6

FreeMADD Southeast Florida is kicking off the 13th Annual UKG 2024 Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K presented by the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County with a meaningful event on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, at BBX Capital in Fort Lauderdale. Guests will enjoy light bites provided by Red Chair Catering, mocktails and a unique opportunity to win exclusive prizes such as beautiful jewelry from Daoud’s Fine Jewelry and more. Guests will also enjoy a performance by a poet from the Jason Taylor Foundation’s Bluapple Poetry Network. Money raised stays in the South Florida community to save lives and support victims of drunk driving.
Special guests include Walk Like MADD and MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K Founder and Chairperson Heather Geronemus, MADD National President Tess Rowland, local dignitaries and more.
From 2019-2021, drunk driving deaths in the United States increased by 31 percent. This is a 100 percent preventable crime, and MADD’s goal is to see a future with no more victims.
The 13th Annual UKG 2024 Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K presented by the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County will take place on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at SE 1st Avenue and Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. More than 1,000 walkers and runners are expected to attend the event. Since it was established in 2011, this event has raised more than $3.7 million that stays in the South Florida community to save lives and support victims of drunk driving, making it the most successful grassroots fundraiser in the history of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
