Dear Hive,

Miami’s social season is in full swing, and today we’re making a splash with our Wild About Miami: Wild About Water luncheon! We’re bringing our Hive together for an afternoon of friendship, philanthropy, and a little oceanside fun, as we shine a light on The CLEO Institute. Beyond today’s festivities, there’s plenty buzzing around town, from family-friendly happenings and dining discoveries to a few finds worth sharing. And while we’re celebrating the connections that make Miami special, we’re also offering an opportunity with our new Household Help Survey. Want to know what Miami pays their help? Simply participate in the survey and get the results sent to you. Scroll down to join the conversation.

BEYOND THE FIVE-STAR STAY

Luxury travel is evolving. While an exceptional hotel will always be part of the equation, today’s travelers are looking beyond the suite and asking: What will we actually experience while we’re there? The most memorable trips are less about checking destinations off a list and more about meaningful access and a deeper connection to place. Think crossing Morocco’s desert by camel before being welcomed into a Berber family’s home for traditional mint tea, learning a centuries-old craft alongside a master artisan in Japan, or watching the African bush come to life at sunrise on a private game drive. The right guide, private access, seamless logistics and experiences tailored to how you travel can transform a beautiful vacation into something unforgettable. The new luxury isn’t simply having more. It’s coming home with stories you couldn’t experience anywhere else. Ready to travel beyond the ordinary? Let The Jetset Collective create your next unforgettable journey.

TODAY’S THE DAY TO GO WILD

Wild About Miami: Wild About Water is officially sold out, and we can’t wait to see you all today! We look forward to our luncheon celebrating the water that makes Miami, Miami, alongside our charitable partner, The CLEO Institute. A big thank-you to our sponsors, including South Florida Integrative Medicine, The JetSet Collective, and Revive Surgical Institute, and Flower Therapy for helping make this day possible. To our guests: pull out your best ocean-inspired look, and we’ll see you on the bay!

OUR NEXT PICK IS A KILLER

Calling all armchair detectives: our next Book Bees pick is Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel by Lucy Foley, the bestselling author of The Guest List. It’s the first new Miss Marple novel in 50 years, and it’s a good one. High in the Swiss Alps, a glamorous hotel fills with guests who all have something to hide: an actress, a politician, a society wife, a doctor. Then someone turns up dead, and only one unassuming woman is paying close enough attention. Read fast and trust no one. Get your TICKET, if you dare.

MIAMI LIGHTHOUSE CELEBRATES WHITE CANE DAY

Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired celebrated White Cane Day on October 15. After the Miami Jackson JROTC Honor Guard and an anthem by the Miami Lighthouse Music Program, Grand Marshals including City of Miami Commissioners Rolando Escalona and Rafael Rosado, School Board Chair Mari Tere Rojas and Billy the Marlin led the White Cane Day Walk. Academy students explored fire engines by touch, Superintendent Rafael A. Villalobos toured the Academy, and the City of Miami presented its White Cane Day Proclamation. The day wrapped with music, raffles, and lunch from the Montes Family’s McDonald’s on SW 8th Street.

DINNER, DANCING & SKYLINE VIEWS

Before making it to your seat, Amazónico Miami hits you with a mixture of Latin style, lively music, and bustling energy that sets the mood for your evening. We definitely implore you to check them out, and don’t forget to stop by their in-house club, Selva Miami, before the night is over!

SUPPORT A NEIGHBOR IN NEED

For years, the lovely woman behind Saruni Salon has cared for our skin and become someone special to the community. A medical issue has kept her out of the salon for a month, but her team is still there, and every appointment and purchase helps keep this woman-owned business going while she recovers. Book a hair or nail appointment, or restock products you already love, from hair care to sunscreen (see some favorites we are buzzing about in this REEL). Visit or book an appointment at the salon in the Kings Bay Shopping Center on 144th Street: 305-256-1266. Luby has spent years caring for others. Let’s care for her business until she’s back.

WHAT DOES MIAMI PAY FOR HOUSEHOLD HELP?

The hourly rate is only part of the story. What about paid vacation, extra duties, and a holiday bonus? We’re asking Miami households what they pay housekeepers, nannies, parent’s helpers, drivers, private chefs, and house managers to create The Miami Household Help Guide. If you currently use household help, we’d love your input. You’ll only see questions relevant to your household, and you can skip questions you’d rather not answer. It’s confidential, we will publish combined findings, never your email or an identifiable individual responses. Submit the survey by November 1 and leave your email to receive the finished guide. Only those that participate will receive a free copy. Take the household help survey HERE. Please share this with a Miami friend who uses household help. Every household adds another piece of the picture.
