Dear Hive, School’s out, and the energy in Miami feels a little lighter with less traffic, more breathing room, and hopefully a little extra pep in your step. This week, we’ve got some fun things in store for you, including Taste of the Gables, so keep reading for details. Our book club experience this week was such a good time (photos are below), and we’d love to have you join us for the next one in August. Speaking of reading, one of our favorite summer traditions is back: the Summer Reading Challenge at your local library, and we’ve got everything you need to get started below. And before you go, don’t skip the Classifieds at the end of this edition. We’ve got two housekeepers available, puppies in need of foster homes, and a food drive you can support right now. Most listings are completely free to post, so if you have something to share with the community, click the link at the bottom of this newsletter or visit our website. ~Samantha and Team 305 Hive® 🐝

BOOK BEES TAKE THE GROVEOur Book Bees showed up and showed out for our last gathering, and Happy Wine in Coconut Grove delivered as only they can. The team pulled out all the stops for a night that felt as special as the book that brought us together. Our read, Lady Tremaine by debut author Rachel Hochhauser, gave us so much to dig into. The Reese’s Book Club pick reimagines the Cinderella story through the eyes of the infamous wicked stepmother, and let’s just say our Book Bees had plenty of thoughts. In the spirit of the evening’s Reese connection, we were treated to Drop of Sunshine rosé, Reese Witherspoon’s own wine, which made the whole night feel like a little celebration. Great book. Great wine. Great company. That is what the Hive is all about.
OUR NEXT READ: THE CALAMITY CLUBFifteen years after The Help took the world by storm, Kathryn Stockett is back with her long-awaited second novel, and it was worth every bit of the wait. The Calamity Club is set in 1933 Oxford, Mississippi, and follows a group of unbreakable women fighting for what is rightfully theirs against all odds. Named a most anticipated book of 2026 by the New York Times, Goodreads, and Oprah Daily, this one has been on everyone’s radar, and now it is our next read. At 640 pages, it is a big one, so we are giving you extra time to savor every word. Grab your copy, get comfortable, and we will see you on August 4th. Location details coming soon!
YEAR ONE LOOKS DELICIOUS AT NIÑO GORDOWynwood’s Asian-Argentine fusion spot, recognized among the top 50 restaurants in Latin America, is celebrating one year, and 305 Hive was there for it, and wow, what a night! Niño Gordo marked the occasion with a special anniversary dish: mollejas — grilled sweetbreads with kimchi, edamame, sweet chili, and corn pickles. Every bite we tried, from the shiitake dumplings to the wagyu tartare, was absolutely spectacular. And the miso ginger flan? We’re still talking about it. The hospitality made us feel right at home, the restaurant is stunning, and if you get the chance, peek into their back bar Dekotora, a craft cocktail experience inspired by Japan’s tricked-out trucks. It’s such a fun touch. The mollejas anniversary special is only here through June, so treat yourself. You won’t regret it!

The showrunner is already calling the season opener “arguably the craziest episode of television ever made,” so Sunday nights are about to get very interesting.
