The holidays are here, and this year more than ever we all want and need to truly celebrate with family and friends and doing it in style of course. Coming out of being at home for so long, you may feel you are in a bit of style rut. It’s a real issue but can be easily remedied by keeping it simple, but festive. Your outfit should reflect your personal style while keeping in mind your surroundings. Whatever your plans are, I’m here to help you break down some holiday inspired outfit options to bring you into the holiday season and the new year with style. I’ve also included in some of the outfit options wear now pieces that extend far past the holiday season.
Remember the holidays are here and shipping and sizing is difficult so the sooner you can nail down your outfits the better! Happy Shopping.
Are you entertaining at home these holidays or gathering at friends or family? This style should be festive but also comfortable, especially if you are the hostess. Think elegant blouses with trousers that can be worn with pretty flats are a small heel. Watch for blouses with long exaggerated sleeves or bell sleeves, as these will undoubtedly get in your way. If you are having pictures taken keep that in mind as well. A billowy dress may feel great, but will it photograph well?
Do you live in or traveling to a cold weather destination? If you live in a climate like this, then you may feel more compelled to dress up as you are usually in winter gear for far too long. I would try dresses with boots under a long coat, or maybe a sequin skirt and cashmere sweater paired back to a pointy boot with a lower heel or block heel for stability outside and comfort all day long.
If you are traveling to a cold weather place, think simplicity for travel purposes. Pair a festive sweater with leather leggings and boots, or a sweater dress is perfect for dressing up while keeping warm. Elevate your pieces with accessories that are easy for travel and can be mixed and matched throughout your trip.
Maybe you prefer going out to dinner during the holidays, so no cleanup is needed. Maybe you have epic plans for New Year’s Eve this year because last year was a bit of a fail. Take full advantage of this season and have fun and be creative with your outfits. Think sequins, colors, satin, velvet, faux leather and furs. Try little dresses, a special print midi, or the trend on slip dress that works perfectly with a short velvet blazer or a chunky knit sweater. A great jumpsuit in jewel tones works for all occasions mentioned above, and always make sure to have the perfect accessories to truly make your holiday outfits special!
More importantly, dress how you will feel most happy and confident, to truly enjoy the spirit of this season. Happy Holidays everyone.
