JOIN US FOR THE CALAMITY CLUBFifteen years after The Help took the world by storm, Kathryn Stockett is back with her long-awaited second novel, and it was worth every bit of the wait. The Calamity Club is set in 1933 Oxford, Mississippi, and follows a group of unbreakable women fighting for what is rightfully theirs against all odds. Named a most anticipated book of 2026 by the New York Times, Goodreads, and Oprah Daily, this one has been on everyone’s radar, and now it is our next read. At 640 pages, it is a big one, so we are giving you extra time to savor every word. Grab your copy, get comfortable, and we will see you on August 5th at The Collab. Get your tickets HERE.
YOUR NEXT GABLES DINNER STARTS AT ROWe had the pleasure of dining at Ro Steakhouse as part of Taste of the Gables, and it did not disappoint. For just $35 a person, the three-course lunch delivered serious value without skimping on quality. We started with appetizers like hamachi crudo and artichoke hearts, both bright and well-balanced. With two of us at the table, we got to try both entrees, the skirt steak and the roasted branzino, and honestly, you can’t go wrong either way. Dessert closed things out on a high note with a decadent Dubai lava cake and a creamy Vasco cheesecake. Beyond the food, the service was outstanding and the vibe inside Ro is something special, polished yet warm. If you’re looking to take advantage of Taste of the Gables, Ro Steakhouse is an easy recommendation.
Bittersweet news out of the World Cup: all three host nations are officially out. Canada fell to Morocco, Mexico lost a heartbreaker to England, and the USA’s run ended with a 4-1 loss to Belgium in Seattle. Tough way to go for the home crowds. But the tournament rolls on right here in Miami — Hard Rock Stadium hosts a quarterfinal on July 11 and the bronze final on July 18, so there’s still time to catch a match in person at Miami Stadium before the World Cup wraps up. Over at Wimbledon, quarterfinals are underway. Coco Gauff outlasted Jessica Pegula in an all-American battle to reach her first Wimbledon semifinal, while wild card Arthur Fery shocked Grigor Dimitrov in five sets, the first wild card to make the quarters since Nick Kyrgios in 2014.
