Dear Hive, Some traditions just stick. Watching fireworks light up the Miami sky is one of ours. Whether you’re catching a drone show or the classic boom-and-sparkle kind, and whether you’re on a rooftop with champagne and fancy cheese or at a park with hotdogs and a face-painted kid on your hip, there’s something about the 4th that brings everyone together. Few things beat watching the sky light up with the people you love. Hope you’re soaking up every bit of it this week. ~Samantha and Team 305 Hive® 🐝

OUR NEXT READ: THE CALAMITY CLUBFifteen years after The Help took the world by storm, Kathryn Stockett is back with her long-awaited second novel, and it was worth every bit of the wait. The Calamity Club is set in 1933 Oxford, Mississippi, and follows a group of unbreakable women fighting for what is rightfully theirs against all odds. Named a most anticipated book of 2026 by the New York Times, Goodreads, and Oprah Daily, this one has been on everyone’s radar, and now it is our next read. At 640 pages, it is a big one, so we are giving you extra time to savor every word. Grab your copy, get comfortable, and we will see you on August 5th. Location details coming soon!
NEW SPOT ALERT: CANTINA LEONCantina Leon is a new spot on the Miami scene serving up tacos and margaritas in a casual, laid-back setting — great for catching the game with a cold drink in hand. The corn ribs were a delicious surprise, and the ice cream cart was a cute touch we didn’t see coming. They also have a small market next door with Mexican treats and fresh tortillas, which is a nice bonus. Still working out some kinks as a newer spot, but should be a nice addition to The Plaza’s offerings.
MAKE WAVES, SAVE TURTLESCollege students nowadays were brought up in the great “save the turtles era,” and in honor of World Sea Turtle Month– here’s a list of ways to get involved, and even knock out your service hours before the Fall semester! Firstly, for our local FIU and MDC crowd, Deering Estates will be hosting ongoing Coastal cleanups at Deering Point (and if swimming isn’t your thing, they also offer trail cleanups for us land dwellers). For our not-so-local crowd, visit this link to find cleanups all across Florida, or even organize one yourself! Until next time, Hive, save the turtles (and the bees).
A 12-YEAR-OLD WROTE THE BOOK ON ANXIETYMeet Abigail Rose Patience.
