Dear Hive, Miami may not have rolling green hills or old stone pubs on every corner, but this time of year it’s hard not to feel a little lucky to call it home. While others search for a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, we like to think the real treasure is right here. Sunshine almost year-round, ocean breezes, and a community full of people building, creating, and showing up for one another. That’s the spirit behind 305 Hive®. The real pot of gold isn’t something you find once a year. It’s the local businesses, events, and neighbors that make Miami such a special place to live. In this week’s buzz, we’re sharing a lineup of things worth discovering around the 305. A little luck never hurts, but around here, the real magic is the community. Let’s see what’s buzzing below. ~Samantha and Team 305 Hive® 🐝
SCHOOL REINVENTED FOR THE WORLD AHEADIn Miami, families are searching for a school that matches the pace and possibility of this city. At Alpha Miami, students complete core academics in just two hours a day—three in high school—through personalized, AI-powered instruction that helps them move faster and understand more. The rest of the day shifts to life: public speaking, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and real-world projects led by guides who coach each child toward confidence. Parents don’t want longer school days. They want better ones. We’re not changing kids to fit school—we built a school that fits kids. Now enrolling. Come see why Miami families are saying yes.

TOMORROW: WOMEN WHO INSPIRE TEAWe’re looking forward to gathering tomorrow at the Coral Reef Yacht Club for the 305 Hive® Media Women’s History Month Tea, as we celebrate inspiring women in our community. This year’s event is officially sold out, and we’re incredibly grateful for such a strong and supportive community coming together to honor our local female leaders. A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors who helped make this special afternoon possible, especially The Jetset Collective, Revive Anti-Aging Medspa, and South Florida Integrative Medicine. For those attending, please note that parking is limited, so we recommend allowing extra time or using rideshare. Event details HERE. We can’t wait to raise a cup of tea with you.
MOVE & MINGLEGuests gathered for an inspiring evening at the Parkinson’s Foundation’s Move & Mingle, where the community came together to support an important cause while enjoying a lively night out. Hosted by Lisa and Brian Tannebaum, the event honored John W. Kozyak, Esq., for his contributions to the community. Guests enjoyed live music, dancing, delicious food stations, an exciting silent auction, and a popular wine pull, creating plenty of opportunities to mingle and move throughout the evening. Most importantly, the event helped raise meaningful funds for the Parkinson’s Foundation’s mission to improve care and advance research for those living with Parkinson’s disease.
FAIRY TALES DO COME TRUE?Contributed by Sara James March Madness is here and we all love a Cinderella story. Unfortunately this year’s princess may be locked out of the castle. Miami of Ohio RedHawks have had a perfect season capping off their 31-0 season with a thrilling 110-108 win over Ohio University last weekend. You would assume they would automatically earn a spot at the big dance as they are the first men’s basketball team to finish a Division I regular season undefeated since Gonzaga in 2021. But nothing is guaranteed in NCAA basketball. March Madness teams are selected based on 32 automatic bids, which go to conference tournament winners, and 36 at-large bids, which are chosen by the NCAA committee. The determinants for at-large sports include high NET rankings, strong quadrant records (quality of wins vs losses), strength of schedule, and head-to-head results. Miami of Ohio plays in the MAC league and without a conference tournament win this weekend, a stronger conference team (think SEC and BIG TEN) could, with double digit losses, could find itself in the tournament over the RedHawks. Seems unfair but we have seen this unfold in college football playoffs as well (sorry Notre Dame). So let’s hope Miami of Ohio continues its winning streak and take the conference tournament win this weekend because we all love a fairytale. Tune in Sunday at 6 p.m. on CBS for the bracket to be announced.
