buzz-worthy miami mom: cat busot

May is all about celebrating the incredible moms in the 305 who make life a little sweeter. Join us as we honor “Buzz-Worthy Local Moms” all month long — each week, we’ll spotlight a Miami mom who has us absolutely buzzing! We are proud to shine the spotlight on Cat Busot a true powerhouse both personally and professionally.

Cat Busot is a local mom of two who is doing big things at home and in her career. Cat serves as Senior Vice President at The Busot Group at Morgan Stanley and has been married to her wife, Eve, for seven years. Together, they’re raising their two children in the city they love — with humor, resilience, and a whole lot of multitasking. Cat brings the same energy and determination she’s known for at Morgan Stanley and on the tennis court to the beautiful chaos of parenting young kids. She jokes, “Leading a competitive, all-women tennis team is easier than having two children under three.” And if you’re wondering what keeps her centered through the whirlwind? It’s a shared mantra with her wife: “The only way out is through.”

We all know it takes a village; well, this city is “Our Village”. We have access to amazing parks, practically any type of cuisine and not to mention there are flights to adventures people have never even heard of. I always say, “We go visit winter, not live in it, I’m a tropical fish!”

The phrase my wife and I often say to each other is: “The only way out is through!”

Leading a competitive, all women, tennis team is easier than having two children under three. Being a mom is a lot like being a tennis captain. You’re always on the go, trying to stay hydrated and sane, even when you want to cry after telling your toddler to put on their shoes for the umpteenth time. We are basically on suicide watch making sure none of your teammates or toddler have too bad of a meltdown, after that third set tiebreaker loss. We are on top of rules and regulations and all the calendar events that we remembered the night before. We juggle 5 tennis court reservations, babysitters and being home by bathtime. It is not all glamour, many times it is late night bedtime stories or calling a doubles pair to convince them that the lineup is solid. The best part of it all, when your toddler runs to you and gives you a hug so tight you both have your eyes closed, for me, it’s like I’ve won the Miami Open!
